this blogging thing is really catching on with me. you'd be surprised who reads your blog through someone's link that led to someone's link, that led to your blog.
that's how i found brooklyn limestone. i live vicariously through people who have the money that i don't to do the things that i can't. and when i have the money to do all the things i've been dreaming of, maybe some young underpaid designer can do the same through my blog.
moving on: i commented on her beach condo remodel after she asked for suggestions to make her living space more complete. after a million or so comments i scrolled down to the bottom and added a comment of my own. 1. add natural colored linen draperies. 2. use a wood stump side table. and what do you know-- my comment was recognized. granted i wasn't the first to suggest it, but hey-- it also provided a link to my blog!
never underestimate the power of recognition. its hard to come by these days.

things that keep my sanity at work
1. bringing my dog to work

2. bendy straws
3. our receptionist

mimi is also our personal ray of sunshine. i don't know how she deals with all the grumpy mcgrumpersons around here, but our old receptionist, berniece, probably handed down a few tricks. she went on vacation a few weeks ago and it only took me one day to realize what a difference a great receptionist makes. it felt like she was gone a year. awesome receptionists are a rare treat.
4. my ipod

no joke

this stuff really exists. i saw it with my own eyes last night at wally world. and you know if pensacola wally world has it, that means it's probably been on the market for some time, seeing how behind we are down here.
it's kind of sad that our nation doesn't get the nutrients we need from the foods in which they occur naturally (examples: fiber, vitamins and minerals in vegetables, amino acids). it's not uncommon to see "now with {insert underconsumed nutrient}!" on the label of popular foods these days. yogurt has fiber, organge juice has calcium, and now...
drum roll...
peanut butter has omega-3 fatty acids.
now read the ingredients.

in case you are unsure of your eye sight quality, yes, that says "anchovy and sardine oil, tilapia gelatin..."
choosy moms choose fish.
our national diet trends remind me of this old time favorite. great show.

dear God:

if you are preparing a place for me in heaven, and i do enough good in my life to deserve a large plot, will you please design it to resemble something like this? water views, outside spaces, woods, and clean lines are enough to keep me happy for an eternity. and please make sure my dog is there, too.
